As a curriculum designer, I believe that learning can happen anywhere humans are receptive to new or old ideas, that the most meaningful learning is rooted in particular objects, and is self-directed while also oriented towards what can be shared.
I have created narrative constellations of texts, images, and other media, with supportive contextual grounding, and engaging activities to make learning active and ongoing. This is fundamentally collaborative work, operating under the belief that expertise is a collective enterprise; my collaborators have included artists, environmental educators, creative writers (living and dead), scientists, scholars and professors, K-12 teachers, and video editors.
I have designed and implemented curricula centered on creative and critical writing, art and interdisciplinary humanities, and environmental engagement, for the educational and public institutions listed below. Currently, I’m especially excited to design curricula and learning experiences for publics in community settings, particularly in support of children or adults.
